Edgar Choueiri is Chief Scientist at Princeton University's Electric Propulsion and Plasma Dynamics Lab (EPPDyL). He is Associate Professor in the Applied Physics Group at the MAE Department . and Associated Faculty at the Astrophysical Sciences Department/Program in Plasma Physics. He is also Director of the Engineering Physics Program at Princeton . He holds a PhD in Plasma Science (1991) from Princeton University. Prof. Choueiri is the author of numerous papers on plasma physics, instabilities and turbulence in collisional plasmas, plasma accelerator modeling, space physics and applied mathematics.

He has been Chief or Principal Investigator at EPPDyL on more than twenty research contracts or grants from industry, NASA, Air Force and other governmental agencies. His theoretical and experimental research interests include instabilities and turbulence in collisional plasmas, nonlinear wave-particle interactions in plasmas, fundamental processes in plasma propulsion devices for spacecraft, active space experiments and micropropulsion. Prof. Choueiri was in charge of modeling the neutral gas releases conducted on the space shuttle as part of the ATLAS-1 experiments launched in March 1992. He was also the chief scientist for the neutral gas release experiments conducted onboard the Russian APEX satellite in 1992 and 1993. He is presently Principal Investigator on various funded research Projects at EPPDyL..

He has developed new courses at Princeton in astronautics, applied physics and advanced space propulsion.
